Lake Bunyonyi

This view is very addictive and you can never get enough of it as the beauifful islands in the lake look like a fine piece of art. Lake Bunyonyi is a scenic deep lake located in southwestern Uganda. It is often referred to as the “place of many little birds” due to the numerous bird species found in the area. The lake is approximately 25 km long and 7 km wide, with a depth of up to 44 meters, making it one of the deepest lakes in Africa.

The lake is surrounded by lush green hills and small islands that are popular tourist destinations. The islands can be accessed by motorized boats or traditional dugout canoes. Some of the popular islands include the Punishment Island, which was historically used to abandon unmarried pregnant girls, and the Bwama Island, which is home to a cultural village showcasing the traditions of the local Batwa pygmies.

The area around Lake Bunyonyi is also known for its mountain gorilla trekking opportunities, with several gorilla families living in the nearby Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The lake is also home to several luxury resorts and lodges, making it a popular destination for tourists looking for a relaxing and peaceful getaway. And as Tugendeafrik.com, we pride in taking our clients to this scenic destination.

Kidepo Valley national park

Even before we got to the national park, we were already viewing wildlife like bushbucks and zebras. The views are breath taking for the flat landscape creates a perfect experience. Lynett Nakamanya guided us in this trip.

The park is named after the Kidepo River, which flows through it, and the valley in which it is situated. The landscape of the park is characterized by rugged hills and mountains, vast savannah plains, and scattered patches of woodland. The park is home to over 77 mammal species, including several predators such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas, as well as large herds of elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, and various antelopes.

Kidepo Valley National Park is also a birding paradise, with over 475 bird species recorded within its borders. Some of the notable bird species found in the park include ostriches, Kori bustards, secretary birds, and various species of raptors.

In the morning after breakfast, we set out for some activities, including game drives and bird watching. We were also informed that in case we wanted, we could have nature walks, and cultural visits to the local Karamojong community. The park also offers unique accommodation options, which offer stunning views of the park.

Despite its remote location, Kidepo Valley National Park has become increasingly popular with tourists in recent years, drawn by its unique landscapes, diverse wildlife, and rich cultural heritage. We created lasting memories with Tugendeafrik.com as our service provider. Can’t wait to go back. Please carry some insect repellent

The beautiful sipi falls

I can still picture the feeling I got when I first saw these amazing falls and was glad that Tugendeafrik.com had organized this trip with lynett Nakamanya.

Sipi Falls is a stunning series of three waterfalls located in the eastern part of Uganda, near the town of Kapchorwa. The falls are situated in the foothills of Mount Elgon, which is the eighth highest mountain in Africa and is shared by both Uganda and Kenya.

The three waterfalls that make up Sipi Falls are known as the Upper Falls, the Middle Falls, and the Lower Falls. The Upper Falls is the tallest of the three, with a drop of over 100 meters, while the Middle Falls is around 75 meters high and the Lower Falls is about 85 meters high. The falls are fed by the Sipi River, which originates from Mount Elgon.

Sipi Falls is a popular tourist destination in Uganda, known for its stunning natural beauty, hiking trails, and opportunities for adventure activities such as abseiling, rock climbing, and mountain biking. Visitors can take guided hikes to explore the falls and the surrounding areas, or they can opt for a more relaxed experience by simply enjoying the scenery and taking in the views. Tugendeafrik had organized a hike which took us to the top of the falls and also had an option of other activities since the walk to the top was not easy for everyone. We took pictures as we walked up the falls.

In addition to the falls, there are several small villages in the area that offer visitors a glimpse of local life and culture.  We later had a coffee tour where we took part in the coffee roasting and grinding process since this coffee is known for its high quality and distinctive flavour.

Overall, Sipi Falls is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Uganda, offering a unique combination of natural beauty, adventure, and cultural experiences and Tugendeafrik.com  has got you covered for this beautiful experience
